2012

The morning of New Year's Eve a friend took me to this gorgeous cliff with the most amazing view. What a wonderful start to what will be a great year for me professionally and personally. I immediately had to take out the trusty IPhone and take some pictures. One of my Goals this year is to really appreciate the world around me, because not everyone gets to take a walk on the beach at the end of December wearing Flip Flops ;) I'm spoiled I know.

I made some new friends and participated in 4 fashion shows! I grew as a designer, seamstress, and pattern maker. 2011 was the year to get my name out there, to network, to develop my design aesthetic, to set the foundation for whats going to be an incredible life journey. I am grateful for every opportunity and humbled by every compliment. Thank you for an awesome year! I'm ready to make 2012 even BETTER!

I have BIG plans for this year, so many things I want to accomplish, so many things already in the works I want to focus my blogging on staying in the moment to realize how blessed I am and how much I have already accomplished on my journey. I want to share a little more about my personal life and the opportunities I'm given as a fashion designer.

In April I will have a few pieces in a local art magazine! I am planning a photo shoot for my look book, that means I will finally be listing clothing on my ETSY!!!!

Also, Just because I think you are wonderful I am hosting a giveaway for Valentine's Day!! On Saturday I will post the blog featuring the items, and how you can win them!!!

(sorry this is wayyyy late but better late than never!! ♥)

The Story Behind My "Belle" Costume

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! I love when people get super creative and have a one of kind out of the box Halloween costume that will make me chuckle; thinking, hey that was pretty clever!

Since Halloween is right around the corner I thought I'd share my experience in making my costume last year. I had tried on several different kinds princesses, pirates, fairies.. I didn't really like ANYTHING! (I am incredible picky and always think I can do it better) It came down to the week right before Halloween My lovely cousin/assistant who came on the multiple trips to the Halloween stores with me, looked me in the eye and exclaimed "why don't you just make your own!!" well of course the thought had crossed my mind, but for some reason or another I never really considered it. I thought well maybe I could, but I would wanna do it right, and having a week deadline was my biggest concern. After continuous reassurance from my cousin, I finally said OK!

Since the age of  6 seeing all my friends in pretty matching Disney princess gowns always inspired me to make my own! I've always wanted to be "Belle" from Beauty in the Beast! She is my most favorite princess and I have been obsessed with her golden (because yellow sounds to plain!) gown for years!

I had a super fun time making it and it's still one of favorite pieces. I don't think Ill ever be able to part with it!  I made it with a golden (yellow..lol) crepe back satin, gold glitter tulle, yellow ribbon and gold chain. I put the gold chain on the front and back princess seams and criss crossed the chain in the back. I put 12 gold grommets in each bow on the gathered bottom panels. I made a detachable belt which ties into a huge bow in the back. Its amazing. I love it!!

If you ever made your own costume I'd love to hear your stories!!! Leave me a comment!

Never forget your Leo Lynn Clutch!

Its your most essential item!!

Prestigefoto got in touch with me after seeing one of my "Ashley" clutches and he immediately had an idea to do an ad campaign. I loved his concepts and couldn't wait to start working on the series of ads. We contacted Autumn Moore to run in heels on a ledge She agreed and it made for a wonderful shoot! Since I will be releasing a few exclusive Leo Lynn Clutches on Etsy I wanted to share a few images from the first session. Please leave me feedback!! I'd love to know your thoughts!

La Jolla Photoshoot

Back in July I did a photoshoot with Whitney Danielle she was sweet in a rebel southern belle sort of way. I loved her! she posed without much direction and was willing to do whatever it took to get the best shot! Once again I worked with the wonderful Prestigefoto Team. We always have a good time and they take great images!!

Here are a few of my favorite shots:
